Why is this packaging better than coffee cups or Tetra Paks?Updated 3 months ago
Here's the big difference—our Paper-Based Refill packaging is recyclable through recycling lines in Australia, while coffee cups and Tetra Paks are not. Why? It's all about design.
Coffee cups and Tetra Paks have very little paper fibre which makes them less valuable to recycle. Our packaging is engineered differently—when it goes through the recycling process, the paper fibre separates quickly and easily in standard recycling lines and a worth while amount of paper fibre can be recovered to make new products.
The graph shows this in action: Our packaging (marked with X) releases its paper fibre quickly during the recycling process, just like other easily recyclable items such as cardboard boxes.
Coffee cups and Tetra Paks? They hold onto their fibre, making them impractical to recycle in standard facilities.Bottom line—by choosing our refill packaging, you're picking an option that can be recycled through many council recycling streams.
